Out of school hours (OOSH) provides professional, supportive supervision for Hinchinbrook Public School students before and after school hours and vacation care.
At Hinchinbrook OOSH, we’re all about recognising the power of play and leisure in the middle years of children’s learning and development. We understand the vital role social and emotional development and communication play in shaping a solid foundation for quality experiences and personal growth. Our educators are like expert navigators, tuned in to children’s thoughts and feelings, fostering a strong sense of wellbeing, learning, and development.
But here’s the fun part – we’re not doing this alone! We’re teaming up with families to create a dynamic partnership. Our educators are like program architects, designing learning experiences that match the pulse of children’s ideas, interests, strengths, and abilities. According to the framework, “My Time, Our Place V2,” childhood is all about Belonging, Being, and Becoming. Join us on this exciting journey where every day is an opportunity for adventure and growth!
What is Vacation Care?
Vacation care is like a celebration for both children and parents, providing a vibrant and lively atmosphere during the school break! Our services are 7am to 6pm, Monday through Friday excluding public holidays. There are a variety of planned activities in the program that cater for children ages between 5 – 12 years.
It's the superhero cape for working parents, offering a reliable and exciting solution to keep their children entertained and engaged while school takes a break.
Imagine a dynamic hub of activities where the children’s day is filled with colorful activities, games, crafts, and adventures with their friends. Our young adventurers have embarked on amazing excursions including the Australian museum, movie theatres, swimming pools and Sydney Zoo! Our mission is to ensure that children’s feedback and ideas are the core of the program and making sure each day is a blast and every adventure is unforgettable!

It's a haven where kids swap textbooks for treasure hunts, backpacks for art supplies, and the school bell for the sweet sound of laughter echoing through the hub and outdoor play areas. In essence, vacation care is the key to turning the break from classes into an unforgettable, joy-filled experience for both children and their hardworking parents.
Parents will be able to access the program, daily and weekly program evaluations, photos, videos, stories, moments and contribute by making comment and suggestions. Through storypark the service share vacation care program, policies and procedures, community announcements
The objective of this practice guide is to support families and educators to have access to:
- An effective and efficient system to support the development of accessible records that support the recording of children’s involvements in leisure and play activities.
- An effective mechanism for the exchange of communication between children, families and educators through respectful relationships and collaboration.
